4 Things to Consider Before Buying Daylight LED Light Bulbs

Things to Consider Before Buying Daylight LED Light Bulbs

Interested in installing daylight LED light bulbs in your home but are not sure if 6500K will be the right colour temperature? Don’t worry, we have you covered.

In this post, we will share things to consider before purchasing Daylight LED light bulbs.

  • Make sure you really require daylight LED light bulbs

Here’s the thing: daylight LED light bulbs are not all-purpose bulbs. As such, they may not be suitable for everyone, particularly in a home setting. While lighting choices boils down to personal preferences, many people are likely to feel daylight LED bulbs as too harsh or blue to be able to fully relax, especially at night.

After sunset, our bodies prefer warmer lights. That’s the reason artificial lighting, for the bigger part of the time since its invention, has been restricted to only warm white colour tones.

However, with the invention of fluorescent lighting, daylight lighting can now be accessed round-the-clock. Many professional applications and tasks do need daylight white lighting (6500K), either because of lack of ambient lighting during daytime or because of prolonged use during nighttime.

Photographers, manufacturers (particularly those use paints), and artists can find 6500 daylight white lighting useful. The same goes for people having specific medical issues like seasonal affective disorder (or SAD for short).

  • CRI matters

A daylight LED light bulb emits light which is pretty much similar to daylight. That said, if an LED light bulb has a low CRI, objects are likely to appear not the same as they would appear under sunlight.

The thing with CRI is that it is not obvious when you look only at the artificial light source. However, when you look at the objects on which it falls, it becomes quite obvious.

So, what is a good CRI?

LED light experts believe, and rightly so, that a CRI rating of 90 or above is extremely good. Many online LED shops, however, sell LED light bulbs that have a CRI rating of 80, and that’s not good at all. At LiquidLEDs, all our LED bulbs are CRI90, so you rest assured you will get the best light quality.

  • Price matters, too

Needless to say, price is important, too. At LiquidLEDs, our daylight LED light bulbs are not only of high quality but they are also affordably priced.

  • Consider using dimmers

Some areas in your home where you may want to install daylight LED light bulbs include kitchens, home offices, garages (if you use it as a workshop), and bathrooms. If you are installing daylight LED light bulbs, consider using LED dimmers with them. They will allow you to adjust the brightness according to your needs.

For example, while daylight LED light bulbs are a good choice in a kitchen, especially if you are fond of cooking complex recipes, their full brightness may feel uncomfortable while having a cup of coffee at the kitchen counter first thing in the morning. But if you use a dimmer, you can easily adjust the brightness level according to the time of day and your needs.
