Interior trends - LED filaments

Incandescent bulbs are slowly but surely dying out, and we're not mad about this. However, many people, as much as they love the modern technology of LED light bulbs, still desire the antique look and warm glow that incandescent bulbs produced. It's not impossible to get vintage light bulbs, even if you don't want to have to compromise on technology for the style...or vice versa.

Something else that many love about vintage incandescent bulbs is the visible filament in the centre - admittedly, this is a really great addition and can truly enhance any room.

So, what is the solution? You guessed it - LED bulbs which are designed to mimic the look and feel of incandescent bulbs. Believe it or not, there are people who are big fans of incandescent bulbs - usually because of the decorative elements. However, as the world advances towards LED light bulbs, there has to be a way to appeal to these incandescent lovers. These new filament LED bulbs mean that you no longer have to choose between the two types of bulbs.

These wonderful bulbs recreate that desirable classic filament. The thing we've always loved about it is the versatility. It doesn't matter what interior you have - vintage, modern, masculine, rustic or elegant, they not only fit in perfectly, but they enhance the room. They don't require fancy fixtures either. The bulb on its own, as a pendant light, creates such an incredible effect.

Why did this need to happen?

The look is amazing, and combining this into an LED light bulb was, in short, necessary. Led lights are sustainable, energy-efficient bulbs with a longer life and a more flexible colour and brightness choices. We have a full blog post on why you should switch to LED bulbs, which you can check out by clicking here.

In short, LED lights deliver more light, have an increased lifespan and don't produce as much heat as an incandescent bulb. With all the benefits of incandescent bulbs, it doesn't eradicate the desirable aspects of LED bulbs - until now. The difference between an LED and a filament bulb are basically non-existent anymore.

How does it work?

You're probably wondering how that LED filament wire works? Well, it does produce light through the LED filaments (which are actually just multi-diode structures).

Arguably the best thing about these filament LED light bulbs is how creative you can be. Incandescent bulbs are quite limited with style, colour and brightness. When you combined, you can get higher and lower colour temperatures and different designs.

You can shop our extensive range of LED filament bulbs by clicking here. Some of our favourites include this gorgeous 2-watt Vintage Candle (if you really want to achieve that vintage effect) and this amazing 6 watt G95 Dimmable Filament. Both of which would look great on their own or in a fancy fixture.
